CASUAL LIBRARIAN/TOURISM OFFICER

Location: McKinlay

Council is seeking a motivated and reliable Librarian/Tourism Officer to operate the McKinlay Library and McKinlay Centenary Museum.

The position will be based in the township of McKinlay. Hours of work will be four hours per week from October to March and 20 hours per week April to September.

The suitable applicant will be enthusiastic, have good organisational and communication skills and the ability to work unsupervised.

TOURISM AND EVENTS OFFICER

Location: Julia Creek 

McKinlay Shire Council seeks to employ a full-time Tourism and Events Officer.

The Tourism and Events Officer will be responsible for the day to day operations of ‘At the Creek’, the visitor information centre and for promotion of McKinlay Shire as a premier outback location in Queensland within the tourism industry, under direction from the Tourism Coordinator.

The successful applicant will hold a minimum education of Grade 12 or equivalent, in addition to qualifications and/or demonstrated experience within the tourism industry.

The selection panel will look favourably towards an enthusiastic individual, who presents proven customer service skills and upholds a passion for the outback lifestyle. Recognition will go to candidates who demonstrate the ability to interact with visitors from diverse cultural and demographic backgrounds.

Remuneration will be based on the Queensland Local Government Industry Award and Council’s current Enterprise Bargaining Agreement dependant on qualifications and experience. Position Closes: 5:00pm Monday 12th June, 2017.
